MarlboroughMarlborough fort is one of historical attractions and cultural mainstay owned by the Province of Bengkulu. British heritage fort early 18th century was built by the East Indian Company (the largest British trade in the archipelago at the time) for approximately six years (exactly in the year 1713-1719) under the leadership of Governor Joseph Callet when in power in Bengkulu. On the tombstones are listed the name of George Shaw (1704), Richard Watts, Esq (1705), James Cune (1737), and Henry Stirling (1774).
